Woodbridge Starts DWI Checkpoints For July 4th Holiday Weekend
The DWI checkpoints will start this Thursday and occur through the summer weeks and into the beginning of fall.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — As they do every year for the July 4th holiday weekend and beyond, Woodbridge police will begin their drunk driving patrols and random DWI checkpoints.
Starting this Thursday, July 2, Woodbridge police will be conducting DWI checkpoints at various locations in the township. They will be in place for the duration of summer 2020.
DWI checks will be on Rts. 1&9, Highway 35, Rt. 27 (Lincoln Highway) and Rt. 184 (West Pond Road), as well as busier county and municipal roadways, said Sgt. Joseph Angelo of the traffic enforcement unit. The checkpoints will also be staffed with multiple drug evaluation experts.

The DWI checkpoints will start this Thursday and occur through the summer weeks and into the beginning of fall.
As always, Woodbridge will add extra DWI patrols every weekend as well as during special events where increased drinking and driving is known to occur, said Sgt. Angelo.
