Woodbridge Students Win Top Awards At Regional Science Fair

Students at Colonia High School in Woodbridge won 30 awards and honors at a science fair held at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

Science research students at Colonia High School in Woodbridge won 30 awards and honors at the North Jersey Regional Science Fair at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

There were 160 projects entered into the science fair, which was held Saturday.

A total of 19 Colonia students, led by teacher James Danch, won awards. Two of those students, Heather Newman and Hayley Roy Gill, had their research ranked in the Top 12, according to a post on the school’s website.

Newman was selected as a winner, while Gill is an alternate. Both will compete in Pittsburgh, at the world’s largest science fair, in May.
