Woodbridge Man, 29, Seriously Injured In Rt. 1 Crash

Breaking: A Woodbridge Twp. man was seriously injured in a crash on Rt. 1 in Linden Tuesday morning and he remains in critical condition.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A Woodbridge Township man was seriously injured in a crash on Rt. 1 Tuesday morning, Aug. 6, and he remains in critical condition at Newark University Hospital, said police.

The crash occurred at 4:15 a.m. on Rt. 1 southbound in Linden. A 2008 Infiniti was traveling south on Rt. 1 when it struck a 2004 Ford Explorer as it made a left turn from Rt. 1 north onto South Wood Avenue, said Linden police.

Both drivers, a 25-year-old man from Elizabeth and the Woodbridge man, 29, were taken to Newark University Hospital with serious injuries. The Woodbridge man was driving the Ford Explorer. His name has not yet been released.

Rt. 1 south was closed due to the crash for several hours Tuesday morning. It opened before the morning rush hour at 7 a.m.
