Woodbridge's Buy Buy Baby Store Has New Owner, Could Reopen This Fall

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — The Buy Buy Baby store on Rt. 1 in Woodbridge — which is currently closed — may reopen at some point this fall.

That's because in June of this year a company called Dream on Me Industries purchased 11 Buy Buy Baby store leases from its bankrupt parent company Bed Bath & Beyond, as Bed Bath & Beyond went out of business.

In total, Dream On Me Industries purchased 11 Buy Buy Baby store leases from Bed Bath & Beyond, and four of those are in New Jersey, in:

Paramus, Bridgewater, Woodbridge Township and Cherry Hill.

Currently, the Woodbridge Buy Buy Baby on Rt. 1 remains closed.

But this CNCB report said Dream On Me Industries is "well-positioned to reopen the stores." And Dream on Me chief marketing officer Avish Dahiya told CBNC the company plans to open "100 to 120 stores in the next one to three years."

CNBC said those four locations are considered to be in some of the most prime real estate in the Northeast.

Dream on Me Industries was a longtime supplier to Buy Buy Baby for cribs, strollers and other baby goods. Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac said Tuesday, Sept. 5 he has not heard anything about the Woodbridge location reopening.
