2015 WEA Scholarships Awarded

Two WEA Scholarships were presented at the June 8 Board of Education meeting.

Amber Lowry and Jacqueline Brockel have received the Wyckoff Education Association’s scholarships for this year.

Lowry and Brockel were each presented with plaques and a $1,500 scholarship at the Wyckoff Board of Education meeting June 8. The Wyckoff Education Association, a professional organization comprised of faculty and staff of the Wyckoff Public Schools,

Lowry, daughter of WEA member Beth Lowry, attended the Midland Park Public Schools. Among her many accomplishments, she has been named salutatorian of her graduating class. Amber has balanced challenging course work and participation in the Interact Club, The French Language Honor Society, and the National Honor Society. In the fall, she will attend the College of New Jersey.

Brockel attended Lincoln and Eisenhower schools and is currently wrapping up a very full high school experience. She is a talented visual and performing artist who is the founder of the Arts Council at Ramapo High School. Her painting “Tracks” received recognition of “best painting” at the William Paterson University 2015 Art Start show. As she continues her education at New York University, she hopes is to use her artistic talent and leadership skills to create to a more empathetic and enthusiastic society.

The WEA is composed of teachers and educational professionals in the Wyckoff Public School District.
