Alleged Car Burglar Who Said 'God Told Him To Be There' Arrested
Zakiy I. Muhammad, 20, was sleeping inside a woman's car at the Wyckoff YMCA Tuesday, police said.
A man found sleeping in a car in the Wyckoff YMCA parking lot told police ‘God told him to be there,’ authorities said.
A woman found a man sleeping in her car in the parking lot Tuesday night, police said.
Officers responded to the scene and determined the woman was dropped off at the YMCA after going on a day tour and found a man sleeping in her car, police said.

The 68-year-old woman yelled at the man to get out and the man said that ”God told him to be here,” police said.
Police said they believed the car was left unlocked.

The woman, bus driver, and others got the man out of the car and into the bus; the man initially gave police a fake name and address and told him that he had been sent there by God, police said.
The man, Zakiy I. Muhammad, 20, of Paterson, wore a pair of the woman’s slippers and resisted arrest; officers had to restrain him on the bus, authorities reported.
Muhammad was charged with burglary of an automobile, providing false information to hinder apprehension, resisting arrest, and theft.
He was transported to the Bergen County Jail in default of $3,500 bail.
