Attempted Burglary Reported On Birchwood Drive: Police

A resident reported an attempted burglary to his Birchwood Drive house Friday, police said.

Attempt to enter the house was made by smashing a glass panel on door on the back of the house, said Chief Benjamin Fox; no further entry was gained or attempted into the house.

Police are investigating the matter, but request residents to report anything suspicious by calling 201-891-2121.

“We want people to be alert as to what’s going on around them. Provide us with information and we’ll dispatch an officer to them right away,” Fox said. “We need people to be our eyes and ears too.”
