Bergen County Firefighter Allegedly Recorded Teenage Girls In Bathroom: Report

Mitchell Morreale charged with invasion of privacy after four girls reported the videotaping to authorities.

A volunteer firefighter in Bergen County has been arrested and is accused of videotaping teenage girls using the bathroom in his home during a pool party.

Mitchell Morreale, a captain with the Lyndhurst Fire Department, was charged with invasion of privacy after four girls reported the videotaping to police, nbcphiladelphia.com reported.

The girls were at a pool party Friday with friends at Morreale’s home when one of them noticed a light in the closet while she was using the bathroom and found what appeared to be a recording device, NorthJersey.com reported.

The teenagers recorded a portion of the footage on their cellphones and put it on a flash drive that they later gave to police Monday, NorthJersey.com reported.

“’I’m sure at the time they did what they thought was the best thing to do,” said Lyndhurst Police Capt. John Valante. “But it was good that they came forward.”
