Bergen County Woman Admits Stealing $162K In Dead Mother's Pension Payments
Linda Miller cashed pension payments for six years, from 2006 to 2012. She faces one to three years in prison.

An Englewood woman plead guilty in New York court to stealing more than $162,000 in her deceased mother’s pension payments more than six years after she died.
Linda Miller, 57, pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny in Albany County Court Wednesday, New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman announced.
“Today’s guilty plea sends a clear message that those who steal from our state pension system will be held accountable,” said Schneiderman.

Josephine Miller retired from the Port Authority and died in 2006 with no survivor designated to receive benefits. The younger Miller did not notify officials of her mother’s death. She continued to receive retirement benefits between May 1, 2006 and Aug. 31, 2012.
Linda Miller faces one to three years in New York state prison when she is sentenced Oct. 14.
