Bergen Infant Continues To Battle Cancer

More than $64,000 has been donated to help a North Jersey baby battle cancer.

Jackson Walsh was recently diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a type of cancer that starts in very early forms of nerve cells while the baby is still forming in the womb. It most often occurs in infants and children 10 and younger.

Walsh’s mother, Tara, works in the Fair Lawn Public School District.

The cancer was discovered during Walsh’s two-week checkup, Jackie Odom said on the GoFundMe campaign page she started to help the Walsh and his family.

Walsh was transferred to Hackensack University Medical Center where tumors were identified in his spinal cord, liver, and adrenal glands.

“Looking at this handsome boy, you would never be able to tell how sick he is,” Odom said. “He has been such a good boy through all this, and we all can’t wait for this to be behind the family.”
