Christian Health Care Center Sponsored Successful Food Drive to Benefit Area Pantries

The Outreach Team at Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff recently sponsored an employee food drive to benefit area pantries.

The Outreach Team at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff recently
sponsored an employee food drive to benefit the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation in
Midland Park and the Harvest Time Food Pantry in Paterson. 690 food items were
collected to benefit the two pantries.

Founded in 1983, the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation has served nearly 2,000 families throughout New Jersey. The mission of the foundation is to provide a variety of specialized services, at no charge, to any New Jersey family facing the challenges of caring for a child with cancer.

“We so appreciate the fantastic food drive,” said Laura Savage, Regional Director of the Northern Regional Center, which serves Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic, and Sussex counties. “Emmanuel Cancer Foundation’s northern region is servicing 17 food families, each receiving 10 bags of food a month. We are so grateful for the support.”

The Harvest Time Food Pantry is largely staffed by the men of the Jericho Road
Homeless Shelter, located in The Gathering Place International Church. Harvest
Time Food Pantry is unique in many ways. Although all the food is free, families are able to shop for their families and choose items they know their family will enjoy. Families are registered to come to the pantry twice a month.

“CHCC’s Outreach service-excellence team is dedicated to serving CHCC, as well as our neighbors in the local and surrounding areas,” said Eric Van Kruiningen, Outreach Team Co-chair. “Through our relationship ith the community, partnerships with local agencies and with help from employees, the team strives to offer support and services, volunteer time, and assist other organizations with their outreach initiatives.”
