Christian Health Care Center to Offer Summer Internship Program

Christian Health Care Center is offering an Undergraduate Summer Internship Program.

Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) is offering an Undergraduate Summer Internship Program providing students with a chance to explore career interests through targeted work assignments, mentoring, job shadowing, and a lecture series. Students will complete a six week unpaid, non-clinical internship in various departments. Interns will be required to provide 15 to 20 hours of service per week. Schedules are flexible with the exception of Monday, which will include    scheduled group educational sessions.

“This is a new venture for CHCC because we believe that long-term
care/post-acute care and mental health/behavioral health are up and coming
career choices in health care,” said Denise Kish, LNHA, Organizational
Development and Service Excellence Director. “We are offering these internships
for students to understand the rewarding career of working in these areas while
helping to educate them with projects that are innovative and essential to
understanding the business of health care.  The internships will consist
of working with seasoned professionals, conducting research projects, and
attending valuable training essential for 21st century workplace skills not necessarily taught in college.”

The program is open to students currently enrolled full-time in a four-year
undergraduate program. Students must have completed at least one year of
college; have a cumulative GPA or 3.0 or better; have a career interest in the
health-care industry; complete and submit the application and letter of
interest (available online at www.chccnj.org by clicking on the Career
Opportunities link); provide proof of a two-step Mantoux by their physician by
Monday, June 3; commit to the program (June 10 to August 2), with an exception for a vacation week, if requested; attend General Orientation June 10 and 11; and be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays.
