Jennifer D’Angelo Spearheads Information Technology at Christian Health Care Center

Jennifer D'Angelo, Vice President of Information Services and Information Security Officer at Christian Health Care Center, is one of few women in the field of Information Technology.

Jennifer D’Angelo, Vice President of Information Services
and Information Security Officer at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in
Wyckoff, is one of few women with leadership positions in the field of
Information Technology. According to the National Center for Women and
Information Technology, only 20 percent of Chief Information Officer positions
at Fortune 250 companies were held by women in 2012.

“Being a woman in a male-dominated field can be challenging,” said Ms. D’Angelo. “But I am fortunate to work for an organization that values experience and the
ability to excel in a leadership role,” said Ms. D’Angelo.

A 17-year veteran of CHCC, Ms. D’Angelo worked in Finance, Marketing and
Development, Clinical Education, and Patient Access Management, before joining
the Information Services team. This diverse background within CHCC provides her
with a comprehensive understanding of the multi-faceted needs of the
organization.

Some of Ms. D’Angelo’s initiatives include spearheading the first fully
implemented electronic medical records (EMR) system within the long-term care
and assisted-living industry in New Jersey; compliance with electronic prescribing in both the long-term care and mental-health divisions; and collaborating with the CFO on strategic initiatives allowing CHCC to increase revenue by utilizing technology. In addition, she provides the technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of the campus-wide information-technology program. Included among her responsibilities are overseeing the facility’s infrastructure and applications systems; devising campus-wide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of information and technology systems for the health-care network; developing systems to create electronic efficiencies while meeting regulatory requirements; serving as the Information Security Officer; and managing multiple information and communications systems and projects, including voice, data, imaging, and office automation, as well as overseeing and evaluating system security and back-up procedures.

“CHCC serves as a resource for other long-term care and mental-health
facilities, leading the charge for electronic data exchange between us and other
health-care organizations,” said Ms. D’Angelo. “My goal is to ensure continued
technological advancement within the organization to enable the staff to
provide the quality care on which we pride ourselves.”

including the New Jersey Chapter of the Healthcare Information Management

“Jennifer is a multi-talented manager with the ability to provide laser-focused
issue resolution, as well as her ability to step back from a challenge and
assess the global impact it may have on the organization,” said David F.
Elliott, Divisional Director Implementation Services, SigmaCare, who is a
consultant for CHCC.

“Jennifer’s leadership in Information Services has been an integral component
to CHCC’s growth,” said Kevin Stagg, CPA, Executive Vice President and CFO.
“Jennifer has not only guided the Center in developing and implementing
new system applications that have transformed how we utilize and manage
information, she has also provided a system infrastructure that is
cutting-edge, secure, and efficient.”

CHCC is proud that its workforce is comprised of 77-percent women, as we
celebrate National Woman’s History Month. It is fitting that the theme of
National Woman’s History Month this year is “Women Inspiring Innovation Through Imagination: Celebrating Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.”

Ms. D’Angelo resides in Bergen County with her husband and three sons.
