Brustofski Wins Spot in Z100 Concert

Ramapo student to perform with Gym Class Heroes on Friday

senior Ali Brustofski has won popular local radio station Z100's "Hometown Hero" contest with 4,160 votes in an online competition against other up-and-coming artists.

Brustofski will be performing Friday at the free All Access Lounge with Gym Class Heroes and Hot Chelle Rae from noon to 6 p.m. in Hammerstein Ballroom before the main Jingle Ball concert. Brustofski will also get to shoot her own music video.

"This is by far the biggest opportunity I've ever gotten, and words can't describe how excited I am to perform with such amazing artists," Brustofski said.

To win, Brustofski and then a panel of judges picked her for the final five contestants last month. She finished the last round with 743 more votes than any other finalist.

Though still in high school, Brustofski is already a seasoned performer. At age 10 she performed in "The Sound of Music" with a young Nick Jonas and in 2003 she performed the voice of Piper O’Possum on Nickelodeon and more recently her song "Rewind" was featured on the show "iCarly."

Brustofski told Patch she intends to go to music school and will continue writing and recording new songs.
