Spring Awakening is a rock musical adaptation of the 1891 play. Set in late-19th century Germany, it portrays the tumultuous lives of a group of teenagers struggling with their burgeoning sexuality and its many consequences. Winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, it blends folk-infused rock music with controversial themes to heartbreaking effect.

However, due to the mature nature of the show's themes, all performers must be 16 years of age or older.
