Candidate's Husband Says Republican Organization Not Involved In Petition Challenge
Robert Yudin, Republican candidate Susan Yudin's husband, defends his track record.

Dear Editor:
One of the primary obligations of the Bergen County Republican Organization (BCRO) is to defend Republican primary winners against Democratic and third party candidates in the general election.
In the last two years the BCRO has done just that in Wallington, Englewood Cliffs, and Saddle River. In the case of Saddle River, the BCRO defended the Republican primary winner against a dissident Republican group.

John Ungler, in his Aug. 5 comments, clearly does not understand this obligation of the BCRO. His comment about the BCRO, me and my wife is not just wrong, but is incendiary. My wife, who was one of the Republican primary winners in Wyckoff, is entitled to the same defense by the BCRO as was given in the aforementioned towns.

I am well aware of the Ungler’s of the world so as cairman of the BCRO, I made a conscious decision not to become, in any way, involved in the Wyckoff petition irregularity challenge. I repeat, the BCRO is not involved in any way.
I knew there would be an appearance of a conflict of interest and that someone like Ungler would defame the BCRO, me and my wife. My wife supports my position and she agrees that she does not even want an appearance of a conflict of interest. She has assumed all obligations in the matter.
Mr. Ungler owes the BCRO, me, and my wife an apology.
Very truly yours,
Robert B. Yudin
