Christian Health Care Center Offers Babysitting Course

Christian
Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff fosters health, healing, and wellness for
all ages and is offering a babysitting course from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday,
June 27. Participants must be 13 years old or older and the cost is $25.
Payment must be received in advance by check. Lunch will be provided. The
course will be held in the Building 1 Clinical Classroom at 301 Sicomac Ave.
Participants will receive a CHCC certificate of completion and CPR card.
Instructors are Elaine Peneno, RN, MPH, and Marita Drivanos, RN, BA, both CHCC
Clinical Educators, and Bob Ehlers, an emergency medical technician and CPR
instructor.



Topics
covered in the morning session include staying home alone safely, when to call
parents to report incidents, how to call 9-1-1, common behaviors in infants and
children; fun activities to do with children, important safety issues, and what
to do when an infant or child is ill. In the afternoon, participants will take
the American Heart Association Friends and Family CPR Course and will learn how
to do CPR on adults, children, and infants, and learn what to do when someone
is choking. Participants will receive an official American Heart Association
CPR book.
