Christian Health Care Center Values Employees and Offers Annual Health and Wellness Fair

Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff is not only dedicated to providing compassionate quality care to its residents, patients, clients, and consumers, but is also very committed to fostering health, healing, and wellness for its more than 900 employees. For the past 15 years, CHCC has offered an Employee Health and Wellness Fair for all staff. Each year, Barbara Lucia, RN, BSN, LTC-SSC, CHCC’s Employee Health Nurse, with support from an employee Health and Wellness Committee, organizes this extensive event.

“Overall, it’s a wonderful day full of valuable information and great networking for our employees who work so diligently to uphold the excellent standards of the Center,” said Ms. Lucia.

The theme of the health fair was “Go Green and Eat Clean in 2015 … From Farm to Table.” The event featured more than 40 local community vendors providing a broad range of health and wellness information and activities, including nutrition, fitness, health screenings, massage therapy, bone density, spiritual care, Reiki, skin care, breast-cancer awareness, suicide prevention, yoga, podiatry, and reflexology, to name a few. CHCC’s Social Services Department also shares information with staff regarding advance directives and living wills. CHCC is committed to ensuring the health and well-being of its staff, since a healthy staff is better equipped to focus on the health of our patients, residents, clients, and consumers.
