Food Spice In N.J. Recalled For Potential Salmonella Contamination

U.S. Food and Drug Administration said jars were distributed nationwide.

Hundreds of jars of a food spice from a New Jersey company have been recalled due to possibly being contaminated with Salmonella.

Chetak New York LLC of Edison, N.J. manufactured the 300 14.1-oz. jars, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Thursday. The FDA issued an alert about the recall on its website.

The coriander powder jars were distributed nationwide to retailers from July 30 to Aug. 13. The UPC number on the clear plastic jars is: 011433134347.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the alert, the FDA said in its alert. The FDA noted the potential for contamination after routine testing was conducted on the powder.

Customers who purchased the powder should return them to the retailer for a full refund.
