Drunk Woman Drove Car Without A Tire: Police

A Franklin Lakes woman allegedly drove a car with a missing tire after she reportedly struck a utility pole earlier this month on Calvin Court, authorities said.

Police found a 2009 Lexus with one missing tire on Ackerson Avenue, said Chief Benjamin Fox; police also found the tire and car parts on Sicomac Avenue, where the vehicle struck a utility pole.

Authorities believe the driver, Susan H. Billstein, 71, hit a utility pole on Franklin Lakes Road in Franklin Lakes.

Billstein, a Franklin Lakes resident, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, driving with an open container of alcohol in vehicle, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash, and failing to report a motor vehicle crash.
