Bergen Youth Orchestra (BYO), the oldest youth orchestra in northern New Jersey, is scheduled to perform Vivaldi's Piccolo Concerto Il Cardellino ("The Goldfinch"), Cello Concerto No. 1 by Saint-Saëns, and Borodin's Polovetsian Dances, among others at the Bergen County Academies Auditorium on March 14th at 4pm. The performance will also feature Sarah Chung on cello and Louis Jee on piccolo, recent winners of the Bergen Youth Orchestra's concerto competition. Guest conductor will be Robert Johnson.
BYO has presented more than 200 concerts throughout northern New Jersey and boasts more than 3,000 graduates including renowned Bassist John Feeney, Principal of the Orchestra of St. Luke and Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown.
Orchestra members range in age from 12 to 18 and come from Bergen, Passaic and Rockland counties. The auditorium is located at 200 Hackensack Ave. in Hackensack, NJ and the performance begins at 4:00 pm on March 14th. Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 for students and seniors.
