FOLK ROCK SHABBAT EVENING SERVICE AT TEMPLE BETH RISHON

Shabbat Tzavta (Together), an annual participatory folk-rock musical service, will take place at Temple Beth Rishon.

This upbeat musical service will include selections from contemporary and classical repertoires and will feature liturgical selections written by Danny Maseng, Sol Zim, Shlomo Carlebach, Jeff Klepper, Debbie Friedman, Craig Taubman, Louis Lewandowski, Ahron Bensoussan, Rich Recht, Tzvika Pik and others. Congregational participation is the most important aspect of the service.

The service will be led by Cantor Ilan Mamber and Rabbi Sandy Olshansky. In addition to Cantor Mamber on guitar, additional musicians will include violinist Sylvia Rubin from the Adelphi Chamber Orchestra and the Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra, Jane Koch on piano, Gale Bindelglass on vocals, Josh Leifer on bass guitar, Mark Kantrowitz on guitar and Jimmy Cohen on drums.
