SABBATH OF SONG SERVICE AT TEMPLE BETH RISHON

Shabbat Shira, a special Shabbat in song, will take place at Temple Beth Rishon. The service, led by Rabbi Sandy Olshansky, Cantor Ilan Mamber and Cantor Annelise Ocanto, will include songs of the land, songs of the soul and songs of the Jewish people. The Kol Rishon Choir will perform the Shabbat service musical selections. In addition, Zemer Rishon, the congregation's teen choir will be performing. Instrumental accompaniment will be provided by Cantor Ilan Manmber on guitar and tof, Cantor Leon Sher on piano, Sylvia Rubin from the Adelphi Chamber Orchestra on violin and Mark Kantrowitz on guitar.

The program will contain both classical and liturgical choral compositions as well as Israeli and Sephardic folk songs. The repertoire will also include both classic and contemporary songs with acknowledgment to the upcoming holiday of Tu Bishvat, the New Year of the Trees.
