Every Boy’s Fashion Must Haves for Back to School

The summer fun and sun has begun to wind down, but the back to school blues are just ramping up again.  The vacations and sleepovers have come to an end, but going back to that daily school routine can be time to reinvent yourself again.  The first impressions you make on that first day can set the tone for the entire year, and looking the part gets you off to a great start.  Whether you’re a student getting ready for their first day or a parent who’s getting their young man ready for that day, don’t just stick with what you’ve known from the past, as the trends continue to change.  Here’s some tips to make sure you look great from your first day, all the way through to next summer.

Pants: The trends have begun to emerge, and the official word is that the baggy jeans are a thing of the past.  Don’t wear the jeans that are hanging halfway down your boxers, but rather focus on some skinny jeans.  Of course we’re not encouraging the ones that fit extremely tight, rather ones that provide that slim cut, but of course you’re always the one who can define the latest fashion trend.   Although skinny jeans seem to be the trend of the back-to-school season, you should always have a variety of options at your disposal.  Consider a pair of khaki pants for the dressier occasions, or perhaps when you just want to make a stronger than first impression.  Variety also doesn’t mean that you need a ton of different kinds of pants, but perhaps some different coloring such as faded or dark.

Shirts: Maybe picture day is right around the corner or you’re trying to catch the eye of that stunning young lady you passes you in the hall, what you need is something that shows who you truly are.  You can never go wrong with a classic polo, a polo sweater, or even a long sleeved dress shirt.  What all three of those options show is confidence and great looks, leaving that great first impression that we all hope to leave.  If you’re not particularly into the collared shirts, or perhaps basic style is more your thing, you can never go wrong with your basic tees in some of the neutral colors.  When looking for an idea to spruce up those basic tees you can try out a V-neck sweater to add an extra element of style.

Jacket: When it comes to staying warm and looking great, there are many options available.  You can focus on style by looking toward a dark or light blazer to match the outfit you’ve already designed.  In addition, you can begin to look toward the future cold months and looks for some added warmth while not compromising on style.

Accessories: They say that sometimes it’s the little things in life that mean the most, and how you tie your outfit together is no exception.  Whether you choose a belt to provide that finished look, a new watch on the left arm to show an extra step of class, or even having a few different shoes to match the outfit, they all go a long way to completing the ultimate back to school look.

Clearly just because the fun of summer is coming to an end, it doesn’t mean you can’t continue to have fun and look great while heading back to school.  The educational experience isn’t just about academics, but also about the social interactions you’ll have over the coming months.  You’ll discover which outfits fit you best and what you’re most comfortable in, and ultimately what aspects are most important to you.  When you look good you feel good, and I must say that’s not a bad way to start off the next school year of your life.
