Father and Son Perform in NJCS Holiday Program
Jim and Jonathan Reitz are members of the New Jersey Choral Society

Local talent was on display Saturday evening when the New Jersey Choral Society performed “On a Winter’s Night” at Immaculate Conception Church in Montclair.
Franklin Lakes residents Jim Reitz and his son Jonathan Reitz were members of the nearly 100-voice chorus that thrilled the packed audience. Jim, a bass, and Jonathan, tenor, are the first father-son duo in the NJCS.
“I love this,” said Jonathan, a student at . “It’s a beautiful church and singing in a group like this is an honor.”

Among the pieces performed were Carolyn Jennings’ “Climb to the Top of the Highest Mountain,” Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Magnificat in D major,” and Christmas favorites “Angels We Have Heard on High” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.”
The group was led by famed conductor Eric Dale Knapp and accompanied by five vocal soloists, the NJCS orchestra and the NJCS Children’s Chorale.
