Pictured: Dr. Lydia Creasy, Franklin Lakes K-8 Gifted & Talented Teacher/Math Staff Developer, poses with three of her students as they show off the house they flipped as part of the ACES (G&T) Open House. During the house flipping unit, children learned about solving real world problems and identifying sources of information to support decision making. ACES students read articles about flipping houses, fair market value, and real-estate transactions. They made virtual offers on real properties, learned about down payments, property taxes, closing costs and securing mortgages. Students renovated their properties and presented their homes, including models and floor plans, to parents and classmates at the ACES Open house.
