Franklin Lakes Police Cracking Down On Impaired Drivers

Department participating in Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

The Franklin Lakes Police Department will be extra diligent this holiday season looking for impaired drivers as part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

Beginning Dec. 11, Franklin Lakes Police officers will conduct extra patrols and man sobriety checkpoints in an attempt to find impaired and intoxicated drivers.

In 2014, 27 percent of all motor vehicle fatalities in New Jersey involved alcohol, police said. Nationally, more than 10,000 people die annually in drunk driving crashes.
