Gold Medal-Winner Jack Wallace To Be Honored Wednesday

Wallace, a Franklin Lakes resident, helped the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team win a gold medal at the Paralympic Winter Games in March.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — Gold medal-winner Jack Wallace will be honored by the Bergen Freeholder Board Wednesday.

Wallace, a Franklin Lakes resident, helped the U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team win a third consecutive gold medal at the Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea in March. Team USA defeated Team Canada 2-1 in overtime.

Wallace was honored with a parade in his hometown in March.

Wallace, 19, is a forward on the team. He lost his right leg in a boating accident in July 2008. An avid hockey player, Wallace recovered and started playing Para ice hockey in 2009. He joined a local team and then earned a spot on the Men's National Paralympic Team in 2017.
