Indian Hills Alumnus Corey Crawford Receives Big Ten Medal Of Honor

Indian Hills High School alumnus Corey Crawford received the Big Ten Medal of Honor Tuesday at the second annual R Awards Dinner Tuesday night.

Crawford is a three-time All-American and the most prolific long jumper in Rutgers University history.

He was the Big Ten Conference long jump champion and took eighth place at this year’s indoor national championship.

"That is a great honor for Corey to receive and well deserved. Besides excelling in track and field, where he is a three-time NCAA First Team All-American, he has excelled in the classroom,” said head men’s track and field coach Mike Mulqueen. “He has been a great team leader and I am thrilled that he is getting this award."

Crawford holds four school records: Two in the indoor long jump, the outdoor long jump, and the indoor 4 by 400 meter relay. He was the national indoor long jump runner up and placed sixth in the outdoor national championship in 2014.

While attending Indian Hills, Crawford was the state long jump champion, a four-time All-American, and the state Group 3 long jump record holder.
