As to why she chose the color red to feature in this exhibit, she said it was the first color in the natural color spectrum.
“I wanted to showcase how the color red is in the world around us whether it is natural or manmade,” she said. “As to why, I had this idea of focusing on one color.”

Most of the subject matter Frawley will photograph are “macro-shots” on architecture, landscapes, other vistas, items in motion and still life.
“What I do is focus on the smaller part of the whole,” said Frawley. “I like to get up close to an item, and see the texture and the substance that may be missed from far away.”
Frawley has been posting her photographs on her blog everyday as a means of challenging herself as an artist. She does it to keep herself motivated and “capture something new.”
Besides featuring her exhibit on the “Red” in the world, the Franklin Lakes Library is also exhibiting her memorabilia of a character that admits it is “not easy being green.”
“Who doesn’t like Kermit the Frog?” Frawley said with a laugh. “I have been collecting all things Kermit the Frog since my freshman year of high school.”
Frawley became interested in Jim Henson’s signature character when she received a T-shirt featuring Kermit poking fun of the Calvin Klein ads at the time.
“I even had him at my own wedding when I got married back in August,” said Frawley. “He was such a part of my life, it made sense and my now-husband was cool with it. In fact, he is a huge supporter of my love of Kermit and he has bought several Kermit-related items.”
She confirmed that many of the items in the exhibit were from him.
“Specifically, he gave me an Adidas jacket and Adidas sneakers with Kermit,” said Frawley.
Between her love of photography and Kermit and she hopes this inspires other artists or people with unique collections to share them with the world.
“I hope when people see this, they know they can pursue their own interests and dreams and there will be an audience for it,” she said. “I have found that people share their love of photography and Kermit the Frog with me and that inspires me to pursue both.”
