Man Arrested For Shoplifting From Stop And Shop

A Midland Park man was charged with shoplifting after police found him after he fled the Stop & Shop supermarket earlier this month.

Sgt. Michael Ragucci and Patrolman Kyle Ferreira went to the store on a report of a shoplifter who fled after an employee confronted him, police said.

Police checked the area, but couldn’t find the man so they put out an alert for his vehicle; Midland Park police saw the vehicle and stopped it, police said.

Shawn T. Martin, 30, was charged with shoplifting. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Wyckoff Municipal Court, authorities said.
