View Map Of Bergen County Coyote Sightings
Coyotes have been spotted in several Bergen County towns recently. Find out exactly where.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Local police departments have reported several coyote sightings recently, including several in one town. The map below provides details as to exactly where police said the animals were seen.
Coyotes tend to move in groups and can migrate from one community to another looking for a place to live and food, said Larry Hajna, a spokesman with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
"They are found in all types of landscapes —agricultural areas, woodlands, suburbs, even urban areas, — and a are rarely seen," Hajna said. "If someone sees a coyote that is showing no fear of people, local animal control should be contacted so they can make an assessment. If the animal is deemed to be a public safety threat or a possible carrier of diseases it will be euthanized."
