Maple Syrup, Mardi Gras and the Circus Comes To Izod Center

Lots of great things to do with the family this weekend.

Pancake Breakfast & Maple Sugaring Demo 
Where/When: Saturday 9:00 am, 9:45 am or 10:30 am; Environmental Center, 150 Crescent Ave. Wyckoff
Why Go: Bergen County’s annual pancake breakfast includes pancakes, maple syrup, sausages, and coffee, tea, or juice. Reservations required for breakfast. Also see a demonstration on maple syrup making from splitting wood to tapping trees to boiling sap. Syrup-making demos will be held at 10:15am and 11:15am in the Sugar Shack next to Depew Barn.

Free Playland Open House
Where/When: Friday 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.; In The Swing, 145 Hopper Avenue Waldwick, 201-444-3556
Why Go: It’s free! Free coffee, snacks, and admission into the Playland. Kids will have a blast as they play on the many slides, tunnels and crawl-throughs, an air-bouce, and two ball pits.

Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Presents Fully Charged 
Where/When: Friday and Saturday 10:30 am & 7:30 pm; IZOD Center 50 NJ-120 East Rutherford
Why Go: The all-new circus powers up audiences with acts from all over the globe, featuring breathtaking dare-devilry, superhuman stunts and never-before-seen performances that spark the imaginations of all ages!

Teri Merliss Sing Along for Kids

Pokemon Black Version & White Version Tour 
Where/When: Saturday 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm; AMC Garden State 16, Garden State Plaza Paramus
Why Go: Families can attend a free screening of the new Pokémon feature-length film, Pokémon-Zoroark: Master of Illusions. You’ll also have an opportunity to play the demo version of the game and learn all about its new features.

Mardi Gras Weekend

Why Go: Make a mask during craft time, get some beads and then strut your stuff during the cutest toddler Mardi Gras parade in town.

Crafts for Kids: Mardi Gras Mask

The Little Mermaid for Kids (ages 4+)

Why Go: Watch as this classic tale is brought to life by Gooen’s Balloowins. This is a unique storytelling technique of balloon sculpturing and audience participation.
