Recreation Fees To Increase For Basketball Players, Report Says
Fees will increase $13 for first- through fourth-grade players and $23 for fifth- through eighth-graders.

Recreations basketball fees will increase to help cover school costs during tryouts and to pay for an independent evaluator for traveling sports teams, NorthJersey.com reported.
Fees for recreation basketball players in first through fourth grades will increase $13, from $65 to $78, and form $85 to 108, a $23 increase, for fifth- through eighth-graders, the report states.
School Superintendent Richard Kuder requested the Town Committee allocate the funds to help cover the $22,000 cost of opening the school building on Saturdays for tryouts, according to the report. The $22,000 is based on using the building for 420 hours at $29 an hour for personnel and other costs.

The committee also approved a $15 tryout fee to cover an evaluator for traveling baseball, softball, and basketball programs.
