Residents at Christian Health Care Center Enjoy "Wedding Reminisce" Program

Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff recently celebrated memories of their weddings.

Residents of Heritage Manor Nursing Home and Southgate at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff recently celebrated memories of their weddings by enjoying a slide show of wedding photos submitted to the Activities Department by residents and their families. This was accompanied by classic love songs from the 40’s and a mock wedding put on by the staff, complete with gowns previously worn by CHCC employees and a three-tier white wedding cake. Children from the onsite Child Day Care Center helped out by being flower girls and ring bearers. The event was well-attended by residents and many of their family members who came out to enjoy the festivities. Activities staff also asked the owners of CHCC’s pet therapy dogs to attend the event. Because it was such a popular event, the Activities Department plans to make it an annual activity.

“May our gracious God hold you and the sweet memory of your spouse in the palm of His hands,” said Linda Bunker, ADC, Heritage Manor Nursing Home/Southgate Activities Director. “And, today, may the spirit of love find a dwelling place in your hearts.”

Heritage Manor Nursing Home specializes in skilled-nursing care, dementia care and memory support, short-term rehabilitation, and hospice. The Activities Department offers daily activities including concerts, baking, and art classes to enhance the lives of residents and meet them at the level of their care. CHCC staff relies on the hundreds of dedicated volunteers to help with the success of these activities on a daily basis.
