Route 208 Project Slated To Begin This Week

Project is expected to take three to four months to complete.

One lane on Route 208 will be closed as part of massive repaving project that is expected to begin this week and take three months to complete.

Work for the resurfacing project will take place in Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, and Oakland on the main part of the highway, entrance and exit ramps, and the shoulder. Work is expected to begin Thursday, officials said.

Work will be completed in stages. One lane will be closed between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Ramps will be closed for one night and traffic detoured to the nearest ramp, the state Department of Transportation said.

Wyckoff police recommend that motorists drive with caution, plan for extra travel time, and utilize an alternate route.
