Tornado Watch In 13 NJ Counties: See The Storm Timeline
The tornado watch is in effect until 7 p.m. Friday.
NEW JERSEY — Weather officials placed 13 New Jersey counties under a tornado watch. The National Weather Service's tornado watch remains in effect until 7 p.m. Friday.
The following New Jersey counties were included: Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Sussex and Warren.
"A couple" tornadoes are possible in the area, according to the National Weather Service. Scattered winds of up to 70 mph are likely, while isolated hail of up to 2 inches is possible, the agency says.

The eastward-traveling storm will most likely to move through from about 2-7 p.m., the National Weather Service said. Forecasters expect severe thunderstorms through the afternoon.

- Friday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe. Patchy fog after 5 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Saturday: Patchy fog before 7 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 97. West wind around 5 mph.
- Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. Southwest wind around 5 mph.
- Sunday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
- Sunday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
