Teenage Resident Charged With Driving While Intoxicated: Authorities

Maura Treanor, 19, was also charged with reckless driving.

Teenagers were arrested in two alcohol-related incidents last week, police announced.

Sgt. Michael Ragucci saw a vehicle stopped at the stop sign at the Russell Avenue-Route 208 interchange Saturday at 3:30 a.m. for an extended period of time, police said.

Following a traffic stop and a breath test, the driver, Maura Treanor, 19, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content while being under the legal age to consume alcohol, reckless driving, and driving with an expired registration, authorities said.

Treanor was released to a friend and is scheduled to appear in Wyckoff Municipal Court July 15.

In other news, a resident reported that a group of juveniles was at the corner of Monroe and Van Houten Avenues and one of them was calling for help shortly after 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, authorities said.

Although police determined that nobody in the group needed help, authorities said Logan S. Schulte, 19, of Morristown, was carrying a case of beer under his arm, according to a police report.

Schulte was charged with possession of alcoholic beverages while being under the legal drinking age. He was released and will appear in Wyckoff Municipal Court.
