Understanding how valuable this service is to their peers, teens from several local churches have come together to hold a benefit concert Sunday, at 7 p.m. at Grace Community Church, 886 Franklin Ave., Franklin Lakes.

The concert was planned by Endurance, the Christian Rock Band that formed out of the youth group at Grace Community, and includes the youth band from Cornerstone Christian Church in Wyckoff, Evergrateful, and other local acts.

"It is very heart warming that the teens are taking on the responsibility to help their peers," Lighthouse Executive Director Debbie Provincer told Patch.

Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource provides free and confidential help to women who find themselves pregnant under less than ideal circumstances. From free pregnancy tests to parenting skills, the center works to educate women about their options and offer emotional and material support to new mothers and fathers.

"Once someone comes to us, we offer support up to a year beyond the birth," Provincer explained. "Material support is provided to those who come for parenting, spiritual or any support. It's an exchange program. We don't just give diapers; we help clients to become healthier parents."

Donations are always needed and welcome. In addition to monetary support, the organization is always in need of diapers, wipes and formula. Gently used baby clothes and items are also accepted at the center located at 503 Lafayette Ave. in Hawthorne or the new satellite office 809 Main St., Hackensack.
