UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For North Jersey

Thunderstorms are forecast to hit North Jersey between 5 and 7 p.m. tonight, according to a Weather.com forecast.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m. for Bergen, Passaic, and Morris counties.

There is a 50 to 80 percent chance of thunderstorms between those hours, the forecast states. Humidity is expected to increase to nearly 100 percent as well.

The forecast states to “expect occasional thunderstorms to begin at 4:45 p.m.

Tonight’s forecast is:

5 p.m.: 71 degrees, 70 percent chance of thunderstorms, humidity: 78 percent

6 p.m.: 69 degrees, 80 percent chance of thunderstorms, humidity: 86 percent

7 p.m.: 64 degrees, 50 chance of scattered thunderstorms, humidity: 96 percent
