Tribute performance closes out TD Bank Summer Concert Series

Johnny Cash fans can look forward to a tribute performance that will pay tribute to the artist and his music Thursday night as hosts the Ring of Fire Band as the finale to the four-week long TD Bank Summer Concert series.

“It’s the first time that we’re coming up there to Mahwah,” lead singer Michael Patrick said.

The band, which is based in New Jersey and performs most of its shows in the Garden state and surrounding areas, formed “right around the time Walk the Line,” came out.

The popularity of the Academy-Award-winning film has caused a resurgence in popularity of Cash’s music, which has been a great help to the Ring of Fire Band, Patrick said.

The four-member tribute band has even met, and performed for, members of Cash’s family, and performs at B.B. King’s in NYC every year on the artist’s birthday.

Residents can expect a fun, family-friendly show Thursday night.

"I laugh when young children request songs like "Ring of Fire" because they heard it in their favorite Video Game.. It serves as a reminder that this music is timeless and crosses many generations,” Patrick said.
