Wyckoff Council Creates Access for All Committee
New group designed to help residents with disabilities and their families.

The Access for All Committee, the group that is charged with helping Special Needs residents and their families in the township, was created Tuesday.
The Town Committee unanimously approved creating the committee. Several members of the community, including up to five people with a disability, parent of a child with a disability, or the caregiver of a family member with a disability will also serve on the committee.
“It’s just another way that we can reach out and help residents who have a mental or physical disability,” said Rooney, who spearheaded creating the committee. “We need to recognized their needs, whether it be fitting into society, finding a job, or something else, and do our best to accommodate them.”

A member of the local clergy, office of emergency management, ambulance corps, Rooney, school system, fire department, ambulance corps, and others will serve on the committee, Rooney said.
“This isn’t a feel-good thing,” Rooney said. “I wanted it to be positive when I set it up and I expect it to be.”
