Wyckoff Man Crashes Into Tree While Evading Police, Authorities Say

A Wyckoff man crashed his vehicle during an attempt to evade police Sunday afternoon.

Officer Nicholas Klein attempted to stop a motor vehicle during a radar patrol that accelerated toward Franklin Lake in an attempt to evade the stop, police said.

The vehicle turned right onto Franklin Lake Road and crashed into a tree near Lily Pond Road, authorities said.

The driver, Tyler Sakosits, 23 of Wyckoff, was arrested and charged with eluding, speeding, disregard of a traffic signal, failure to signal, reckless driving, and failure to possess proof of insurance, police said.
