Wyckoff Municipal Officials Set To Vote On Budget Tonight

The average homeowner is slated to pay $68 more in municipal taxes if the $18.2 million budget is approved.

Municipal taxes are slated to increase $68 for the average homeowner if the township’s $18.2 million budget is approved tonight.

The budget, which includes, a $12.6-million tax levy, would bring the average municipal tax bill to $1,870, township administrator Robert Shannon told NorthJersey.com.

The budget permits the town to hire three new police officers, bringing the department’s total to 26.

Of the $18.2 million, $6.1 million funds municipal employees’ salaries and wages. The number of township employees would go from 100 in 2014 to 98 this year. The number of full-time employees would decrease slightly from 65 to 63, while the number of part-time employees would remain the same year over year at 35.

A public hearing at which town officials will answer questions from the public on the budget will be held at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the municipal building court room.
