Morgan Hoffmann played in the iconic event for the first time Thursday.

Wyckoff native Morgan Hoffmann made his debut at the Masters event Thursday with a few remarkable shots.

“That first tee shot was a little nerve-racking,” he would admit later. “I just got a little quick and pulled it a little bit, but I hit a good recovery shot that kind of got the round going.”
Indeed he did, a low, scorching line drive that cut through the humid Georgia air before landing on that first green, a shot that didn’t simply help him save par (he was only slightly long on a birdie putt), but also helped him stave off the considerable potential for an early-round meltdown.
