Wyckoff Native Is Jersey City Mayor's New Spokesman: Report

Ryan Jacobs, 26, was most recently chief speechwriter for U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx.

A Wyckoff native is the newest spokesman for Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop.

Ryan Jacobs, 26, began working at his new job last week, NJ.com reported.

Jacobs, who will earn $110,000 annually, take over communication duties from longtime spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill, the website reported.

Jacobs is Hudson County’s highest paid staff spokesman, the report states.

Jacobs is a Yale alumnus. He worked at West Wing Writers, a Washington, D.C.-based speech writing and strategy-consulting firm before becoming the chief speechwriter for U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx in 2013. He also worked as a speechwriter for the 2012 Democratic National Convention, the report states.
