Wyckoff Officials Say They're Ready If Hurricane Joaquin Hits
Storm could reach New Jersey late Sunday night or early Monday morning, meteorologists say.

Wyckoff emergency management officials said they are prepared to spring into action should Hurricane Joaquin hits North Jersey this week.
While authorities do not know the exact path of the storm, the National Hurricane Center said the storm could reach New Jersey by late Sunday night or early Monday morning.

Winds as high as 90 to 100 mph are forecast as it approaches the East Coast.
“In case the storm hits, we’re ready to go — police, fire, ambulance, we’ll be ready,” said Lt. Charles Van Dyk, coordinator of the Wyckoff Office of Emergency Management.

All of the Bergen County municipal emergency management coordinators are scheduled to attend a regular meeting tonight and discuss the possible impact the storm could have on the area.
Van Dyk said residents should check the township’s website for updates and emergency announcements. Residents may also follow the Wyckoff OEM on Nixle, sign up to receive notifications via the township’s reverse 911 service, or call the police department at 201-891-2121.
