Wyckoff Police Chief Alerts Residents to Lock Vehicles

Amid recent car thefts, Chief Fox is also urging Wyckoff residents to avoid leaving valuables in their vehicles.

Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin C. Fox is alerting Wyckoff residents to lock their vehicles overnight and to avoid leaving valuables in their cars, as multiple thefts have been reported from unlocked cars during the overnight hours.

Items stolen include wallets, electronic equipment, GPS units, cameras, purses and cash.

But Chief Fox says these incidents can be avoided if vehicles are locked.

“The thieves are simply pulling the handles of cars parked in driveways and parking lots,” Chief Fox said. “If you have left your car unlocked, you will be a victim.”

Residents are also reminded to report any suspicious person to police.
