Police: Ferreira Appeared 'Very Distraught' After Shooting Dog
Police release report on shooting of German shepherd April 29.
Wyckoff Police have released the incident report regarding Patrolman Kyle Ferreira shooting Otto, a German shepherd, on Lawlins Road April 29.
Officers reported that Ferreira appeared ‘very distraught’ following the shooting. Ferreira was at the wrong house investigating what he thought was a burglary at the location.
Lt. Murphy reported Ferreira was “pacing back and forth” when he arrived at the Vukobratovics’ home.

“He was shaking his head and several times he put both hands on top of his head,” Murphy said in the report. “To me, he appeared to be visibly upset by whatever events had transpired prior to my arrival.”
Lt. Charles Van Dyk reported that he spoke with Al Setikas and his mother in law, Judy Pisani the next day. Setikas was the man who went to police headquarters to report an attempted burglary at his house.

Several neighbors who live near the house where the dog was shot told police they were not home when the incident occurred and could not provide information.
