Wyckoff Public Library Announces Departure of Director
Wyckoff Public Library Board of Trustees seeks new director.
(Wyckoff, NJ) - Mary Witherell, Director of Wyckoff Public Library since October 2011, has announced she will leave the library mid August. “I wish nothing but the best for the board, staff and Friends of the Wyckoff Library. I have enjoyed my tenure here, and have served this lovely community well. It was a time of my life I will never forget.”
Witherell has led the Wyckoff Public Library through a successful phase that saw the completion of the library’s renovations and expansions. Most recently, Mary was instrumental in the WPL being one of 19 libraries nationwide to win an American Library Association/Smithsonian Institute grant to bring the traveling exhibit, “Exploring Human Origins,” to Wyckoff in October 2016.
Mary is a passionate leader who brought enthusiasm to her role as director of the library,” says Lori Peters, President of the Wyckoff Public Library Board of Trustees. “We are sad to see Mary leave, as she has made great strides at the Wyckoff Library to achieve our goals of being a community center and place of learning, but we wish her the best in her new position as the Library Director for Englewood.”
